New June Bakery is a small women owned bakery located in the Brewerytown / Fairmount neighborhood in Philadelphia, PA. We offer a seasonal selection of uniquely designed cakes & pastries that are not only beautiful, but delicious too.
We are located in Brewerytown / Fairmount at 2623 W. Girard Ave Philadelphia PA 19130.
New June’s cakes, and their fresh take on sheet cakes in particular, have been featured in the New York Times T Magazine, on Good Morning America, Food & Wine and Architectural Digest, among many others. New June founder, Noelle Blizzard, has been named a 2024 Rising Star Chef award winner by Star Chefs magazine, and New June received a coveted 2023 “Best of Philly” nod from Philadelphia Magazine.

- We are currently a 9 person team spanning baking, design, retail and administrative roles. This a diverse team (LGBTQIA inclusive) hard working, but we have an AWESOME team dynamic, have A LOT OF fun, and are eager to add a new face and new skills to our bake team!
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our 8-person team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a strong understanding of baking techniques.
This position is focused on supporting the baking needs of our retail operation, that includes brioche buns, cookies, pies, tarts AND cakes, ensuring high-quality standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety.
- Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday late afternoon to evening, and Saturday morning 5am to 9am.
- Compensation is $18+ an hour based on experience.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of products including cake, cookies, cheesecake, buns, pies, etc.
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to achieve optimal results.
- Package finished products for sale while maintaining quality and freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and customer demands.
Skills
- 3 years of professional baking experience REQUIRED.
- Philadelphia Servsafe REQUIRED.
- This individual will overlap with our day-time baking team but may include some individual (alone) time in the production kitchen. This person needs to be a self-starter, higher organized, highly communicative and able to take initiative.
- Proven experience in the food industry with a focus on baking.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and production techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and customer interactions.
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($18.00)
