Love baked goods? Us too! and we're looking to expand the Lucky's Bakehouse family. (We're hiring!) Now seeking a lead baker and cake decorator at the Bakehouse to lead the back of house team: paid time off and a sweet in-store discount.
A passion for pastry arts and a creative drive with the ability to produce innovative recipes and baked goods is a must. Team player attitude and cleanliness partnered with the ability to work morning shifts and weekends are requirements for this position!
Responsibilities include sharing a love for baked goods along with inspiring and educating our team and customers about our baked in-house goods. Must appreciate the stress, joy, and satisfaction of engaging with and feeding the public. Pay range includes tips.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the lead baker must have a drive for creating delicious food, building high performing teams and delivering hospitality:
· Experience with making pastries, cookies, baked goods and cake decorating
· Ability to be a pioneer in creative baking and the ability to develop and execute new recipes
· Strong leadership, management and motivational skills–ability to lead and motivate a team
· Detailed oriented and motivated to be proactive in a fast-paced setting. Organization skills are a must
· Experience in ordering product, packaging and conducting inventory
· Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
· Ability to responds positively to customer’s inquiries and assists customers with purchases, information, and product selection; requires selling and cross selling of products as well as taking detailed special orders.
Responsibilities
· Assist in all aspects of the production, including but not limited to scaling, mixing, proofing, and baking
· Assist in the management of the daily production including special orders and holiday specials
· Assist the owner in the R&D process of new items
· Manage the back of house team and assign task as needed
· Assist with the training of the bakery team, included new hire training
· Conduct proper inventories for all ingredients and supplies used by the bakery
· Assist the owner with the daily ordering
· Perform each duty in accordance with the owner’s standards within company policies, practices, and procedures.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in accordance with DOH guidance and sanitation guidelines
Required Skills
Passion for Baked Good
Experience With Mixing, Proofing, Baking and Cake Decorating
Ability to communicate effectively
Good Communication Skills, Both Verbal and Written
Detail Oriented
3+ Years of Experience as a Baker in a Similar Environment
Food Handler Certificate
Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
Ability to lift up to 30lb
