Bludorn Hospitality Group is seeking a passionate and experienced Wine Director to oversee and elevate the wine programs across our four distinct restaurants:
  • Bludorn: Modern American cuisine with French influences, located in Montrose.
  • Bar Bludorn: An upscale tavern in Memorial offering a lively extension of the Bludorn dining experience.
  • Navy Blue: A modern American seafood concept inspired by Gulf Coast flavors, located in Rice Village.
  • Perseid: Our newest concept, opening in January, a French bistro interpreted through the lens of Houston’s vibrant culinary scene.
As the Wine Director, you will play a key role in shaping the guest experience by curating exceptional wine lists, managing inventories, training staff, and fostering strong vendor relationships. We are looking for someone with extensive wine knowledge, proven leadership in managing wine programs, and a dedication to delivering hospitality excellence that aligns with our brand vision.
 
Key Responsibilities
Wine Program Management
  • Develop and maintain wine lists tailored to each restaurant's unique culinary focus.
  • Regularly update wine selections to reflect seasonal changes, guest preferences, and industry trends.
Vendor Relations and Guests Engagement
  • Cultivate partnerships with premium wine distributors and boutique producers to source exclusive, high-quality offerings.
  • Occasionally organize fun wine-focused events, such as pairing dinners, tastings etc…, designed to showcase our restaurants and enhance the visibility of our wine programs.
  • Engage with guests in the dining rooms, providing personalized wine recommendations to enhance their experience.
Inventory Control
  • Oversee wine purchasing and inventory for all locations
  • Monitor costs and implement strategies to maximize profit margins while maintaining exceptional quality.
Staff Training and Development
  • Design and execute tailored wine education programs to empower staff with the knowledge and confidence to recommend wines effectively.
  • Conduct regular tastings to introduce new selections and ensure consistent service excellence.
  • Collaborate with culinary and management teams to ensure wine programs align with each restaurant's brand identity and goals.
