Job Description:

Scratchboard Kitchen is seeking professional and experienced baristas to join our team. 

Hours of operation: Tuesday - Sunday 8 am - 3 pm & 5 pm - 9 pm.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Creativity.
  • Curiosity.
  • Working with the Chef to execute a from scratch coffee and bar menu.
  • Must have open availability including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Working closely with all Front of House and Back of House professionals as well as management to provide outstanding customer service to each and every guest from our community.
  • Executing the craft of coffee and espresso drink making.
  • Ensuring that the highest level quality of product and service offerings is delivered to all guests, including personally interacting with all guests.
Preferred, but not required (we will train the right candidate):

  • A love of food and beverage trends and ingredients associated with modern restaurants.
  • Barista & Cashier experience is a plus.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Restaurant experience.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • A strong understanding of coffee and steaming milk.
  • A proactive outgoing work-personality.
  • Demonstrated positive approach to problem-solving and Team work.
  • Excellent communication skills.

ABOUT SCRATCHBOARD KITCHEN:

Restaurant Concept:

Upscale casual restaurant in downtown Arlington Heights serving simple yet elevated scratch-made farm to table fare, coffee, fresh pressed juice, and alcoholic beverages.

Our Vision is for the restaurant to serve as a community gathering place for family and friends to comfortably enjoy time together while sharing a carefully crafted and beautifully presented meal. Although the focus will be on the dine-in experience, a coffee bar/counter will also allow for take-out service where patrons can grab coffee, fresh pressed juice, kombucha, and other breakfast items. The space provides a cozy yet refined environment, consisting of warm, earthy tones to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Our goal for the menu is to provide upgraded classic favorites made primarily from organic, locally sourced ingredients.

Our Mission is for our guests to know Scratchboard Kitchen as a haven where they will always be welcomed, where they can find carefully crafted and beautifully presented food & beverage offerings that are both nourishing and indulgent, and where they always experience excellent service that exceeds their expectations.


Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($10.00 - $12.00) plus tips
