ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe system, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
• Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
• Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary
• Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
• Paint or repair windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures
• Fabricate or repair counters, benches, partitions, or other wooden structures
• Perform general maintenance of buildings or properties

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1+ year of experience in facility maintenance or commercial cleaning
• Preferred experience in painting, plastering, drywall, tiling, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, take initiative and problem solve ongoing lists of maintenance projects
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively
• Must have or obtain FDNY S95, G60, F01, and F60 Certificates of Fitness
• Full-time availability is a must!
