We are seeking a creative, kind, and ambitious Chef (CDC) to take over and put their imprint on an established concept for a restaurant in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Your exceptional leadership skills, creativity, and passion for delivering outstanding hospitality will be instrumental in driving our success.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and maintain our culinary vision
- Oversee the entire kitchen operation, including food preparation, cooking, and plate presentation
- Direct, hire, and train the kitchen team
- Uphold the highest standards of food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of staff and guests
- Manage kitchen inventory and ordering
- Manage labor and kitchen waste efficiently to maintain the highest-level of standards, food quality, and COGS
- Collaborate with ownership and general manager to meet and/or exceed sales and budget targets
- Ensure consistent execution of company policies
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in restaurant management
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce
- Experience managing P&L's, labor, purchasing, vendors and quality control while providing results in revenue
- A creative, kind, and patient leadership style
- Proven track record of achieving financial targets, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability
- Desire to operationally support the business as an individual contributor and leader
- Knowledge of NY state health and safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across the organization
- Knowledge of NY state health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Spanish language proficiency is highly desired for this position.
