BARTENDER
As a bartender, you must be friendly, outgoing, energetic, and possess good communication skills. Your individual personality should shine through. You should be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. You are expected to be guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing in a high-volume restaurant environment. You must be a team player and try to be available to pick up shifts when another employee must call off. You should take pride in your personal appearance and show dedication to your job and display integrity and honesty in all aspects of your employment. Additionally, consistency is a key element in a positive experience. We achieve this by always following recipes as they are written in the Bar Book.
DUTIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Welcome each guest personally as quickly as possible.
- Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language always.
- Make guests feel appreciated through your actions.
- Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
- Work with others to keep all areas clean and stocked to our standards always.
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of the bar and dining room following standard recipes.
- Ring drink and food orders into the computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served and make change when needed.
- Wash and sterilize stemware.
- Be attentive! Offer your assistance before the guests must ask for it.
- Count drinks Guests are served and monitor to ensure that no guest is overserved.
- Perform responsible service of alcohol. Do not hesitate to ask for management intervention if necessary.
- Have knowledge of food menu & beverage specifications.
- Have knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 4 years bartending experience in high volume night life atmosphere
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent walking with some standing at times
- Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.
- Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and able to kneel and stoop repeatedly.
- Frequent washing of hands.
