General Manager – Radio Bakery
The General Manager is a leader who oversees all front of house operations, administrative needs, and facility maintenance, at both Radio Bakery locations. They are tasked with the responsibility of hiring, training, and overseeing the counter server teams at both locations, as well as processing payroll, managing guest relations, helping maintain the facilities, the management of physical cash, and working with the managing partners to ensure service excellence, financial success, compliance with company policies, and team safety and well-being. The successful General Manager possesses solid leadership skills, the ability to manage change, excellent written and verbal communication skills, quick action/follow through, as well as a deep understanding of our HR policy and state/federal regulations.

Team, Leadership, Culture
- Promote a culture of curiosity, kindness and respect amongst the staff as a whole.
- Lead, educate and inspire the team to prepare baked goods that reflects Radio Bakery’s style.
- Train, engage and educate counter team in Radio Bakery food and philosophy.
- Work with ownership, Human Resources, and accounting to establish appropriate staffing pars; oversee interviews, selection, and hiring of all team members.
- Work with ownership to establish a talent pipeline through succession planning.
- Along with the managers, responsible for all staffing and performance:
- Determining and enforcing hiring and training practices for all management and staff based on Radio Bakery standards.
- Continual development of managers and hourly staff by establishing performance expectations, providing ongoing feedback, and presenting regular performance reviews.
- Identifying and leading development of future leaders.
- Oversee all disciplinary actions and terminations with managing partners.
- Ensure schedules are completed properly and in line with the needs of the business and budgets each week.
- Ensure Radio Bakery Employee Handbook is adhered to at all times and document any incidents where necessary.
- Complete accident or incident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured.
Financial
- Along with the managing partners, the General Manager is responsible for making operational and financial decisions to maintain the health of the business.
- Create, edit, maintain and review operating and capital expenditure budgets for the bakery and provide required reporting to ownership.
- Target areas of excess cost and wastage working with management team to maximize profitability through targeted, organized approach.
- Oversee ordering, purchase order management and/or inventory for all supply categories and work to maintain within budget and food costs.
- Ensure proper team member coverage per the needs of business while maintaining target labor costs.
Food Safety and Planning
- Lead the team in compliance with the entire Health Department code to ensure an “A” letter grade on all sanitary inspections.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and general cleanliness.
- Promote and practice safe work habits through training, education and day-to-day management.
Operational
- Manage hourly employees in their daily responsibilities, providing clear, effective direction.
- Monitor daily time clock ins/outs for accuracy; address time clock abuse (clocking in early or late) via clear management; ensure all staff are compliant with required break times during their shift.
- Responsible for interviewing potential candidates, onboarding, training, and scheduling.
- Manage and update the POS, website, and all other internal and external software.
- Mantain the organization of the sharepoint.
- Responsible for managing invoicing and inventory across both locations.
- Work with managing partners to maintain social media and photography for the business.
- Writes and posts accurate FOH schedules, and resolves staffing issues with callouts and replacements
- Acts as a role model and provides continuous constructive feedback and guidance to FOH team; continuously coaches team and creates opportunities for improvement
- Fairly and consistently executes progressive disciplinary action with team members when necessary and in compliance with Radio Bakery’s HR practices
- Responsible for running payroll on a weekly basis including manaing PTO, SICK PAY.
- Lead in management of Repairs & Maintenance across both locations, making sure that projects are managed, vendors are organized and scheduled according to the needs of the facilities, and invoices are handled appropriately.
- Manages inboxes for all Radio Bakery locations, handling communications with guests, media, staff, and prospective employment. Issues refunds or sends checks to guests as necessary.
Cash Responsibility
- Strictly follows general business guidelinesfor cash handling
- Carefully detects counterfeittender with provided materials
- Accurately manages tip pool entry as directed by Radio Bakery procedure
- Makes sure petty cash accounting is accurately maintained and organized.
Menu Knowledge
- Keeps current with Radio Bakery menu and can describe all items.
- Understands different types of allergy restrictions and is able to guide guests through the menu seamlessly
- Learns and understands the cooking techniques and processes used in the bakery
Compliance
- Actively strives to ensure that Radio Bakery remains compliant with all local, state and federal employment laws and Department of Health standards
- Supports the onboarding process to ensure the completion and compliance of all related documentation

5+ years of restaurant management experience
Excellent food and beverage knowledge

Understanding of restaurant POS systems
Education: Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job

Ability to bend/climb stairs as necessary
Ability to lift/push 50+ lbs.
