Alpana Restaurant looking for a part-time bartender. Earn extra money on the weekends! 

ABOUT ALPANA:  Located on the corner of State and Pearson in Chicago’s historic Gold Coast neighborhood, Alpana is a stylish bistro serving wine-inspired New American fare in a convivial and relaxed setting. 

BARTENDER RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Must have experience working in a fine dining or upscale casual setting
  • Opening and closing the bar
  • Full bar service including wine and beer
  • Making drinks in a quick and efficient manner
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Plan and present bar menu
  • Check customers’ identification and confirm they’re of legal drinking age
  • Maintain bar inventory and supplies
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Full knowledge of all menus, products, ingredients and specials.
  • Ensures guests are greeted on a timely manner and orders are executed on a timely and efficient manner.
  • Offer quality service at all times
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of bar
  • Perform side work as assigned
  • Prepare service station for service
  • Maintain complete knowledge of seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and proper bar set ups
  • Listen to, and promptly act to resolve, guest issues and requests
  • Achieve maximum customer satisfaction

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 1-2 years serving experience bartending in a high-volume restaurant
  • extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • willing to work nights and weekends and arrive in time to complete pre-shift sidework and pre-shift meetings 
  • teamplayer, gets along well with others, believes in upholding a safe and inclusive work environment
  • polished, professional, warm and hospitable  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to lift 10- 20lbs if necessary including trays of food 
  • Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment. 
  • Stand and walk for the entirety of an eight-hour shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant. 

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly (Based on Experience) plus tips
