The West Town Bakery division of the Fifty/50 Group is looking for hospitable Barista who is looking to become a fixture of the Ukrainian Village and West Town neighborhood. A long-time barista is going back to school after 4 years with us and we are looking for the new face of our West Town location.

This position will be the face for many local and loyal customers that have been stopping into West Town Bakery on Chicago Avenue for more than 13 years. 

A Barista will be in charge of his or her section behind the counter. Serving coffees, breakfast pastries, desserts, and other pre-made items. There are days that this position will work solo with the assistance of the managers and servers, so you will need to hussle. 

Essential Functions:

• Take beverage orders from guests.
• Learn the names and personally recognize our regulars, while actively developing your own
• Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks consistent with the Restaurant's standard drink recipes.
• Record drink and food orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
• Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).
• Replenish the pastry case throughout the day and keep sandwich bar fully stocked.
• Clear and reset guest tables.
• Make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages, pastries, and sandwiches.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the Restaurant including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
• Prepare and deliver coffee and room service orders to hotel guests.
• Assist the restocking and replenishment of Restaurant inventory and supplies.

Other Functions:

• complying with health and food safety standards, restocking items, cleaning,
• operating the cash register, answering the phone, providing great customer service, and following Fifty/50 Restaurant Group policies & procedures

Physical Functions:

• Ability to stand/walk a minimum of 8 hours or as needed.
• Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed.
• Be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently.
• Will frequently reach and bend.
  
  

  Qualifications, Education and Behavior

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Have a minimum of 12 months barista experience
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to properly handle a knife, confidently.
  • Ability to work early morning hours.
  • Ability to work consistent schedule at least 3 days per week.
