Job Title: Sous Chef
$18-$25 per hour
Location: New York, NY
About Us: A New Mediterranean restaurant is set to open its doors early 2025, bringing a vibrant Mediterranean dining experience to Manhattan. We are seeking experienced and passionate Line Cooks to run our kitchen and help bring fresh and modern dishes to our guests.
Position Overview: As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of dishes while ensuring the highest culinary standards. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a new restaurant opening and make a lasting impact on our guests.
Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety in compliance with health regulations.
- Culinary Standard: Preparing and executing dishes set by the Executive Chef and CDC in a timely fashion to ensure a smooth service. Demonstrating knowledge of dishes on and off your station.

Inventory Management: Minimizing waste and employing a systematic use of ingredients to move product in an efficient fashion.

Communication: Keeps consistent and calm communication with fellow staff members in a respectable manner. Working with the rest of the kitchen team to bring orders on time.
- Cleanliness Standard: Keep station and kitchen clean and up to health code at all times.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant.

Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Leadership skills with the ability to take and follow orders.

Exceptional palate and creativity in dish presentation and flavor combinations.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to lift 30+ pounds.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.

Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Certification in NYC Food Protection License recommended.
