Sous Chef

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and talented Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at Sinsa. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing concept, contributing to a progressive menu that balances Korean American flavors with influences from diverse global cuisines. The ideal candidate will have a deep respect for culinary artistry, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and execute seasonal menus that reflect Sinsa’s vision.

Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.

Manage and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.

Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards, including DOH regulations.

Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost management to maintain profitability.

Assist in training and mentoring kitchen staff, fostering professional development and team growth.

Innovate and experiment with new techniques and ingredients to elevate the dining experience.

Act as a key leader in daily kitchen operations, ensuring seamless service during all shifts.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or higher in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant.

Strong understanding of Korean American flavors and the ability to fuse them with global influences.

Proficiency in classical cooking techniques and modern plating styles.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Familiarity with inventory management, food costing, and labor controls.

A ServSafe certification or equivalent is preferred.

Genuine passion for food, creativity, and continuous learning.
