Gui/Hwaro (opening in early 2025), is a new concept by Sungchul Shim and the team behind Michelin starred Kochi and Mari.
GUI is an American-Korean Steakhouse (not a K-BBQ) with flavors influenced by diverse cultures of NYC. A menu created by chefs with a Korean heritage, American upbringing, and Global flavor understanding.

Hwaro is a chef’s table dining concept located inside the soon to open GUI Steakhouse. Hwaro will offer a fine-dining, counter side-open kitchen tasting menu highlighting exquisite and upscale ingredients throughout the meal.
We are currently looking for Chef de Partie to join our team to start in January 2025!
Responsibilities:

- Ability to learn, understand, and execute menus
- Follow Recipe and guidelines set by the management team
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure and respect
- Open and close the line
- Maintain and ensure compliances with all regulations of New York City’s health and safety protocol
- Ability to explain or answer all food preparation related questions
- Assist team members when needed, work well in a group oriented environment
Qualifications:
- 2+ Year of culinary experience in restaurant
- Open-availability including all major holidays
- A strong sense of urgency and strong communication skill
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to work in a open-kitchen
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation
- Knowledge of and interest in Asian cuisine is plus
- Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly, and constantly improve
- Must be meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards
