Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing the administrative functions of the Human Resources department. This position will report and work closely with the director of operations and the director of finance to build and execute systems to improve the employee experience at Delicious Hospitality Group while also ensuring compliance across all businesses.

Manage the employee life cycle from an administrative perspective.

  • Actively manage and facilitate the new employee process, including sending/filing offer letters, ensuring timely onboarding and review of identification.
  • Actively manage and facilitate off-boarding process.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all benefits administration through payroll company. Work closely with EB Cohen to ensure Health Benefits information is communicated in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor payroll and improve the process through daily checks and follow up with management to ensure accuracy of all punches.
  • Accurately process weekly payroll for all entities.
  • Manage the employee referral bonus program in payroll company.
  • Ensure that all NYSDOL letters are sent and filed within 3 days of an employee’s last date with DHG.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely filing of all employee related documentation, including transfer paperwork, rate of pay forms, tip agreements, corrective action forms, etc.
  • Handle all Year-End and ACA filing through payroll company.
  • Fulfill all worker’s compensation claims, unemployment claims and any mandatory government/census reporting.
  • Manage the administrative function of DHG’s recruiting efforts, including managing all job postings, handling the physical set up of all open calls, manage the Applicant Tracking system, and keep all recruiting information up to date for accurate trend reporting.
  • Coordinate, schedule and confirm attendance for all new hire orientations.
  • Assist with PEO and Performance Management implementation.


Ensure Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits Compliance

  • Remain constantly up to date and compliant with the correct Human Resources practices and policies with DHG, New York City, and New York State.
  • Conduct quarterly HR compliance audits.
  • Conduct quarterly benefits audits and ensure monthly benefit reconciliation with the finance team.
  • Audit employee timecards after managers approval.
  • Ensure that payroll is completed each week in a timely and accurate fashion, in accordance with New York State law. Ensure all payroll related codes are entered correctly for final approval by the director of finance.
  • Assist managers in executing appropriate administration for all employee related practices, including rate of pay forms, exit paperwork, etc.


Essential Functions

  • Able to work nights, some weekends and holidays, per the needs of the business.
  • Approaches work with a strong sense of urgency and is able to set and hit deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google suite.
  • Expected to uphold knowledge regarding:
  • Most up to date HR requirements as mandated by the city and state of NY, and federally.
  • Expected to understand and translate DHG’s Mission/Vision/Values into observable and teachable behavior.
  • Expected to abide by all standards as outlined in Handbook and policy documents.
  • Contribute to the design of the DHG’s quality of customer experience.

  • Leadership capabilities with a focus on coaching individuals and teams are a must.
  • Excellent communication skills

Work Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in an HR Coordinator or junior HR Generalist role at a similar caliber concept
  • Fluent in Spanish 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or similar subject, preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification, preferred






Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($75,000.00 - $85,000.00)
