The highly-touted South Korean hospitality company known as Glow Seoul makes another impact in the tri-state area with a traditional Korean-style café known as Cheong Su; opening soon in Fort Lee, NJ and is looking for the most detail oriented Manager!

Job Description:

As the Cafe Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our cafe, ensuring that we deliver excellent customer service, maintain high-quality standards, and foster a positive work environment. You will lead and motivate the team, manage inventory and supplies, and be responsible for the overall success of the cafe. You’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with ownership to drive business growth and implement new initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and inspire cafe staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure customers have a positive, welcoming experience from the moment they walk in the door. Handle customer concerns or feedback with professionalism and care.
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and ensuring smooth cafe operations.
  • Staff Scheduling: Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing during busy hours while controlling labor costs.
  • Inventory & Ordering: Track inventory levels and order supplies, ingredients, and equipment as needed, ensuring the cafe is always well-stocked.
  • Financial Management: Monitor daily sales, cash handling, and expenses to ensure profitability. Assist with budgeting and cost control.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all food and beverages meet our quality standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Work with ownership to develop and implement marketing strategies, promotions, and events to attract new customers and retain loyal ones.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure that the cafe is clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality setting (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of cafe operations, inventory management, and financials.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A passion for coffee, food, and providing an outstanding customer experience.
