Angelina Bakery is a fast-casual Bakery-Cafe specializing in Italian-inspired goods. In addition to chef-inspired cakes, pastries, sandwiches, and signature coffee, Angelina Bakery offers a unique experience to thousands of customers daily. We are looking for a Pastry Assistant for new location opening soon in Linwood, Fortlee.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist preparing a wide variety of goods following traditional and modern recipes.
- Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining new recipes, presentations and products.
- Assist the Pastry Chef with the coordination and directing of the pastry operation.
- Prepares specialty baked goods for in-house and catered events.
- Inspect the quality of the ingredients and measure them for specific recipes.
- Control the effective storage and stock levels, while always being cost-conscious.
- Check the quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for baking.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is in good condition and meets all requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Pastry Chef to meet business needs.
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience.
Demonstrate strong pastry skills and operation
Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (gluten free, sugarless,etc)
Must be able to perform in high-volume environment
CUSTOM CAKES KNOWLEDGE PREFFERED, Knowhow to make custom cakes with buttercream and fondant. Cake design.
Be able to work weekends.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services, ordering and inventory control.
- Ability to understand complex instructions and material.
- Ability to prepare and bake a variety of pastries.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in an environment with time constraints.
- Knowledge of maintenance and care of culinary facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
- Excellent verbal and customer service skills.
- Has initiative, accepts criticism, and works well under pressure.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
