We are a two-way concept, blending elements of traditional NYC with its new modern-day flare, the homage and innovation that Brooklyn deserves. Confidant Luncheonette is inspired by New York City’s vibrant diner and deli culture, bringing a fine-dining level of attention to detail and inventiveness to midday fare in a bright and bustling, yet laid-back environment. For dinner, Confidant will transform into a place of comfort and luxury. Showcasing a seasonal a la carte menu with a 6-course tasting menu and chef table experience that will spotlight the ingenuity and creativity of the Confidant team. Confidant & its Luncheonette are committed to matching the vibrant innovation and excitement of Industry City and its historic roots through a high level execution, and an intentional, relentlessly evolving menu.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensures our extraordinary Guest Service standards are maintained at all times.
• Serves exciting, innovative, and delicious food and beverages for guests per the established standards of service.
• Assures that sequence of service standards is met by greeting guests, taking orders, directing guests to amenities and monitoring/meeting guest needs and requests.
• Maintains knowledge of menu cuisine, wine list, special items, etc. featured in the restaurant.
• Must maintain knowledge menu items and ingredients.
• Maintains an individual sense of style and expression while adhering to Confidant dress code.
• Demonstrates a courteous, friendly, polite, professional and efficient attitude.
Be able to operate computer and point-of-sale (POS) equipment with accuracy and appropriate speed.
• Demonstrates an aptitude for wine service and an eagerness for beverage education.
•Ability to communicate prompt and correct information regarding tables to chefs and service colleagues.
•Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet and to manipulate them from heights which may require the use of a footstool.
Skills and Qualifications
• Evening and Weekend Availability a MUST!
• Team-service experience is strongly recommended.
• Customer service orientation should consist of the organization, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to work in teams.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience for Server in comparable fast-paced restaurant
*Must have or be willing to obtain food certification.
