At Brooklyn Kura we are committed to a new tradition of American Craft sake. Building on more than 1000 years of Japanese brewing history, we're demystifying sake and making it more accessible. Our New York City brewery is expanding and so is our taproom. We are looking for a dedicated cook to run the show in our new taproom kitchen, where we are serving a variety of elevated bar snacks inspired by classic NYC flavors.
The right candidate is someone with experience in NYC kitchens (cafes, restaurants, bakeries), looking to push themselves or move up. You will be responsible for the preperation and execution of key components of dishes, ensuring quality and accuracy throughout service, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. We are a small team looking to work with someone who will proactively communicate and problem solve.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience at multiple stations
- 4-5 years previous kitchen experience
- knowledge of cooking procedures, safety and sanitation
- weekend availability
- strong organizational skills
- experience with large events
- preference given to candidates with DOH Food Handlers cards
Benefits available for full time hourly staff, room for growth and advancement for the right candidates. We are open Thursday - Sunday and often host additional private parties throughout the week. The right candidate will have availability for all of these shifts.
