Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic General Manager to oversee daily operations, service flow, and staff at baroo in the Arts District, downtown LA (LA Times Restaurant of the Year 2024). You'll be working with the Director of Operations/Owner and the Executive Chef/Owner to deliver rigorous, world-class service with warmth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Implement procedures and processes that elevate guest experiences to world-class standards and drive revenue.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, staffing, scheduling, and training.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to maintain world-class service standards.
- Inspire and cultivate a high-performing team environment based on respect and collaboration.
- Lead with an “If you see something, say something” approach to providing feedback to all team members.
- Delegate key areas of responsibility to managers and lead team members and hold them accountable for following through
- Ensure all team members are trained and compliant with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Actively participate in service and the day-to-day operations.
- Handle guest feedback promptly, fostering a welcoming and positive dining environment.
Qualifications:
- Dedicated hospitality professional with at least 2-3 years of management experience in a fine-dining restaurant
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflicting interests with the goal of obtaining cooperation.
- Passion for food, beverage, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to effectively and respectfully train, coach, evaluate, and discipline employees.
- Flexible work schedules, including nights and weekends
- May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in a variety of technology systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Toast Payroll, Toast POS and Resy.
- Strong wine knowledge.
