Opened in October 2020, Rootstalk is a celebration of seasonal and technique-driven food. Privately owned and operated by Chef Matt, along with partners Chef Cameron Baker and Director of Hospitality Patrick Murphy, Rootstalk embodies a team of hospitality professionals dedicated to providing guests with a memorable dining experience. The team is deeply involved in daily operations, fostering mentorship, and creating a culture of growth for its members.

In April 2022, Chef Matt and his team expanded their culinary vision with Radicato, further solidifying their commitment to delivering exceptional food and genuine hospitality.

Job Overview: Rootstalk is seeking individuals who share their passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences, are dedicated to honing their hospitality craft, and find joy in the process. The restaurant emphasizes a positive and professional work environment where team members can learn, grow, and achieve their personal goals in the restaurant industry. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of leadership experience in a high-level dining room, a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to contribute to the culture of the restaurant family. The assistant general manager at Rootstalk will oversee service, help greet and seat guests at the front door, be involved in the team-oriented service model that has contributed to Rootstalk's success. Beyond the nightly involvement in the flow of service this postion will require on the fly problem solving skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal relationship management skill.s 

Job Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of leadership in full service restaurants.

Job Duties: 

  • Providing hospitality to guests in the dining room. Making everyone in the dining room feel like they are being welcomed into our home. 
  • Helping book and confirm reservations. 
  • Responding to guest feedback. 
  • Handling special requests and communicating with guests before their visits. 
  • Creating memorable moments of hospitality in our dining room. 
  • Writing and maintaining a schedule. 
  • Creating floorplans and executing service nightly. 
  • Providing feedback and correction to the service team during the flow of service. 
  • Partcipating in weekly education classes offered by our leadership team. 
  • Setting up the restaurant before service and ensuring the space is ready to welcome our guests. 
  • Working to code. Following the systems established by ownership and following the steps of service that are outlined.
