Quince is a Three Michelin Star and Michelin Green Star restaurant serving California contemporary cuisine grounded by Italian culinary principles and Chef Michael Tusk’s lifelong respect for seasonality, terroir and artisanal producers, highlighting produce from the restaurant’s farm in West Marin. The restaurant’s daily menus are fiercely seasonal, with the ingredients informing and inspiring all creations from the culinary team.

The Lead Sommelier position works in conjunction with the Wine Director to oversee and direct the day-to-day service and administrative operations of the Quince Wine Program. A strong understanding of wine service mechanics and the ability to discuss wine eloquently and naturally in a wide variety of settings is needed. Equally necessary is a complementary knowledge of all things culinary and an ability to contextualize the cuisine and prima materia of the restaurant in relation to wine. Moreover, we look for those who are passionate, driven, and committed to the highest standards of hospitality, and take a humble approach to their work habits through ownership, diligence and integrity.
Who You Are:
· You have multiple years of experience working in hospitality, including experience in a Michelin-starred fine dining establishment or equivalent.
· You ideally have two or more years working as sommelier or captain in a Michelin-starred fine dining establishment or equivalent.
· You are confident and fluent with the mechanics and service techniques essential for wine service at the
highest level.
· You possess a well-versed knowledge of winemaking, viticulture, classic wine regions, top wine producers
· You may additionally possess an extensive knowledge of the producers, vintages, and winemaking styles of the regions of Champagne, Burgundy, Loire, Rhone, Piedmont, Tuscany, and California,
along with fluency with producers and approaches associated with the emergent minimal-intervention/“natural” wine movement.
· You possess knowledge and keen interest in the intersection of wine and food.
· You have attained wine educational certifications such as the WSET 3/Diploma, Court of Master Sommeliers Certified/Advanced or possess corresponding levels of knowledge and experience.
· You have an innate, intuitive and self-driven love of hospitality.
· You have a strong work ethic and excel in a challenging and demanding environment
· You see the sommelier role as a part of a team and actively prioritize all elements of service standards towards the goal of offering the highest level of guest experience.
Responsibilities:
· Taking an active role in service on the floor including but not limited to wine and beverage service alongside active assistance in general service support.
· Daily maintenance of all wine service-related mise-en-place.
· Working with the Wine Director and Culinary Team to choose selections for wine pairings.
· Helping with daily administrative tasks related to management of the wine cellar such as receiving of wine deliveries, organization, and general upkeep.
· Assisting in the maintenance and administration of the wine list and other guest-facing materials.
· Assisting with production of educational and informational materials.
· Assisting and leading staff educational classes, seminars and tasting groups.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary/Hourly ($90,000.00 - $100,000.00)
