Position: Head Chef

A premier NYC restaurant group is in search of a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef to lead its new location in Williamsburg, opening late 2024/early 2025. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the culinary direction of a vibrant concept known for its high-quality, bold, and authentic flavors. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Head Chef or CDC in a high-volume restaurant, generating over $8 million annually.

About the Role: As the Head Chef, you will be deeply involved in all facets of kitchen operations, from menu development to managing kitchen staff and ensuring that every dish meets the restaurant’s high standards. This position requires someone who leads by example, possesses a hands-on approach, and maintains an unwavering commitment to excellence. Candidates should be ready for a flexible schedule involving 5 days per week and 55-60 working hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Thai or Southeast Asian cuisine is a strong advantage, but not required.
  • Intermediate Spanish proficiency is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience leading a team in a collaborative, high-energy environment.
  • Thorough understanding of restaurant financials, including budgeting, food costs, and labor management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and lead the kitchen team, fostering a positive, cohesive, and supportive work environment.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations with meticulous attention to food quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Collaborate with ownership and culinary directors to create innovative, seasonal menu offerings that align with the restaurant’s vision.
  • Monitor and manage inventory, food cost controls, and maintain efficient labor practices.
  • Uphold strict health and safety standards, ensuring the kitchen operates under the highest sanitation protocols.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: Competitive, $100K-$120K based on experience.
  • Health Care: 100% coverage for a single plan (Medical, Dental, Vision) after 30 days.
  • PTO: 12 days annually.
  • Schedule: Full-time, 5 days per week with two consecutive days off.
  • Work Hours: Typically 50-55 hours per week, with flexible availability.
