Job Summary: The Bartender at Ostras is responsible for crafting exceptional beverages, providing outstanding customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. This role requires extensive knowledge of mixology, a deep understanding of our unique beverage offerings, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Beverage Preparation:
- Create and serve various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to restaurant recipes and guest preferences.
- Help the beverage team develop and innovate the beverage program, ensuring it aligns with the Latin-Asian fusion concept.
- Ensure all beverages are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout their visit.
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences and make personalized recommendations.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and promptly.
- Menu Knowledge and Pairings:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of our beverage menu, including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic options.
- Recommend beverage pairings that complement our Latin-Asian fusion dishes.
- Stay informed about new beverage trends and incorporate them into the menu.
- Bar Maintenance:
- Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
- Perform regular inventory checks and restock supplies as needed.
- Ensure all bar equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
- Sales and Upselling:
- Promote daily specials, featured cocktails, and high-margin items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Upsell beverage options and suggest appropriate pairings with menu items.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a seamless operation.
- Assist in training new bar staff, and sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Support other team members as needed to ensure exceptional service.
- Safety and Sanitation:
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and serving alcoholic beverages.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the management team promptly.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; formal hospitality or bartending education preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a bartender in a fine dining establishment.
- Extensive knowledge of mixology, wine, and beverage service.
- Skills:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems and bar inventory management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
