Job Summary: The Server Assistant at Ostras is responsible for supporting the servers and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests. This role involves tasks such as setting and clearing tables, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and assisting with food and beverage service. The Server Assistant plays a vital role in upholding the standards of fine dining service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Table Maintenance:
- Set up tables according to the restaurant’s standards, including arranging tableware, glassware, and silverware.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently after guests depart, ensuring readiness for the next seating.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area throughout service.
- Guest Support:
- Assist servers in delivering food and beverages to guests.
- Refill water glasses and respond promptly to guest requests.
- Provide additional service support to guests as needed, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the dining room, including floors, tables, and service stations.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations.
- Regularly clean and sanitize service tools and equipment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist in carrying trays and running food from the kitchen to the dining room.
- Support other team members as needed to maintain efficient service.
- Stocking and Preparation:
- Restock server stations with necessary supplies, including napkins, silverware, and condiments.
- Ensure that all service stations are well-organized and fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Assist in preparing the dining room for service and closing it down at the end of the shift.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a busser or server assistant in a fine dining establishment is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with fine dining service protocols is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
