JOB DESCRIPTION & CLASSIFICATION

 

POSITION: Swan Room Maître D’   

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Bar Manager, Floor Manager, Head Bartender

PURPOSE:

The Swan Room Maître D’ is an integral part of Swan Room team as they provide exceptional service and uphold high standards. They lead the front door team and set a good example of how to greet, engage, and connect with all guests. The Maître D’ has a strong overall knowledge of utilizing the functions on RESY to build the book and accommodate all hotel guests.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Creates a warm, welcoming, and energetic front door experience for all guests
  • Greets and acknowledges all guests promptly
  • Sets a strong example of excellence to the host team; takes initiative in teaching and training the hosts
  • Exercise good judgement and decision making in escalating concerns and resolving issues. Escalates any concerns that need immediate attention to the manager on duty
  • Upholds food and beverage knowledge
  • Ability to recommend menu items
  • Provides attentiveness and excellence in service
  • Displays confidence and a strong demeanor at the door
  • Uses best judgement when maximizing covers and building the book in every service
  • Creates a smooth flow of service
  • Ability to communicate to guests on the waitlist; does their best to provide an accurate wait time for guests
  • Assists in developing and maintaining key professional relationships with hotel guests and hotel partners
  • Works with Concierge and front desk to accommodate all hotel guests
  • Strong communication skills with the team. This includes the following, but not limited to: bartender, server, server assistant, host, kitchen, manager on duty
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Upholds Department of Health Standards
  • Maintains the [email protected] inbox and responds to inquiries in a timely manner

In addition to performing the key responsibilities listed above, this position at times is required to perform a combination of the following:

  • Be a team player and support other roles during service, such as resetting tables and running beverages
  • Share input and feedback to what can be improved in service to the management team
  • Additional duties as necessary and assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands for this position includes standing and working for long periods of time and moving intermittently during work hours. The employee is required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level. These physical demands described here must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($30.00 - $37.00)
