Our hosts and hostesses are the first and last encounter for our guest experience at BSTRO 38. They set the tone and ambiance as soon as the guests walk in. They have the enviable task of setting the tone for the exciting experience ahead with a warm, knowledgeable and enthusiastic welcome. We are seeking a positive and enthusiastic hostess that will take responsibility of setting the stage for exceptional accommodation and organization for the restaurant through telephone service, greeting, seating and setting the pace during each service. Work hours generally from 4pm - 9pm or later depending on business.
Located in the heart of Manhattan, BSTRO 38 is an neighborhood bistro and bar infusing cuisines from around the world. Formerly Havana NY, BSTRO 38 is owned and operated by the same family that brought Havana NY since opening in 1991. We've been consistently recognized as one of the best places in NYC with our elevated and authentic flavors.
- Required to have experiences working in a fine dining environment in NYC
- Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner
- Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table
- Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area
- Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
- Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure even workload for wait staff
- Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties
- Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow
- Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Helps fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($19.00 - $24.00)
