Job Details
Travel the US with our award winning Culinary Team! Proof of the Pudding is the exclusive food & beverage provider for 8 professional golf tournaments that take place from January-October. Chef positions offer flexible schedules as you sign up for the events that work with your schedule. Pay is competitive with ample overtime during event days.

A Traveling Event Chef provides full BOH support to the Executive Chef and culinary team. From high volume food preparation to running their own satellite kitchen in the hospitality suites, a Traveling Chef should be well versed in all culinary techniques, be flexible and creative in execution and problem solving, and be able to work independently and as a team. Traveling Chefs must be able to work long hours, 12-15 hour shifts on event days and be on their feet for long periods of time.
Responsibilities: 
  • High volume prep creating consistent results
  • Advise the culinary team of purchasing/product needs, to help minimize waste and/or food shortages
  • Stores, labels, and dates food items in accordance with the chef’s instructions
  • Operate food-service equipment in a safe manner
  • Work with the FOH team to execute meal service throughout the day
  • Overseeing hourly cooks and stewards to ensure the kitchen is running effectively
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of food
  • Following a recipe and creating consistent product in high-volume
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, assists in breakdown of the event
Performs other realted duties as needed.
Experience & Specialized Skills:
  • Experience in a leadership culinary role with high volume catering experience is strongly preferred, work in stadiums, arenas, concerts, and large-scale hotels are comparable to this role
  • Ability to travel domestically throughout the year 
    • Trips are usually from 1-3 weeks in length
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work well with others and take initiative to succeed individually
  • Knowledge of best food safety practices
  • This role requires standing and walking for long periods of time and the work days can be long and demanding
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Periods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue with bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 25 lbs.

Position Salary & Benefits:
  • This is considered a part-time position with a "select your own" schedule.
  • Benefits include a daily per diem while traveling, lodging and travel expenses covered, daily meals, and competitive wages.
