Restaurant Manager
4 Star Restaurant Group was founded in 2003 with 4 owners who bring a combined 110 years of experience to the restaurant industry. Position Overview:
Our Restaurant Managers (RM) are a crucial part of our operations team, and critical to driving high standards in quality, cleanliness and organization, financial results, culture and hospitality. They are energetic, passionate about the hospitality industry, and care about their teams. The RM position is an entry level management position for someone who wants to develop and grow with 4 Star Restaurant Group. Working directly with their management and hourly teams, they will set a tone of professionalism, teamwork, empowerment, and excellence for everyone.
Job Responsibilities:
- Hiring, Training, and Supervising Staff
- Creating and managing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for shifts.
- Conducting performance reviews, offering feedback, and addressing any staff performance or behavioral issues.
- Conflict Resolution
- Monitoring guest satisfaction, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring high-quality service.
- Ensure that the restaurant atmosphere is welcoming and that service is efficient and of high quality.
- Ensuring all restaurant operations run smoothly, including overseeing food and beverage service, cleanliness, and ambiance.
- Managing food, beverage, and supplies inventory, ordering necessary items, and tracking usage to minimize waste and ensure stock is always available.
- Ensuring Health and Safety Compliance
- Managing the restaurant's budget, tracking expenses, and working to maintain or increase profitability. This includes managing food and labor costs and implementing cost-saving strategies.
- Overseeing payroll, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Analyzing financial reports, including sales data, profit margins, and operational costs, and making adjustments as needed.
- Ensuring the restaurant complies with all legal requirements, including liquor licenses, health permits, and any other local regulations.
- Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems: Ensuring the POS system is functioning correctly and managing any issues related to transactions or payments.
Operational:
- Shows the ability to develop a solid routine on opening, mid and closing shifts to ensure execution is up to standards and we are hitting all the steps of service and Hospitality
- Ensure that everyone on the team is using and maintaining all operational systems developed and implemented by 4 Star Restaurant Group – it is never ok for anyone in operations to alter/change/delete/add anything to any system created by the company
- Understand, and embrace operational changes to make sure they are communicated and executed with the highest standard
- Communicates effectively
- Fully understands and complies with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the location, team members, and guests
- Perform building audits when time allows. Ensure that all communication from the Audit is shared with every manager. Work with every manager on a plan to resolve any opportunities from the Audit in a timely manner
- Floor presence as a Coach. Move, observe, and coach. Do not get stuck in a station or in an hourly function
- Engage with guests to ensure an excellent visit, feedback and share it with the team
- Drive ticket times in the kitchen and behind the bar to make sure our targets are met
Qualifications:
- 2 years of Restaurant Manager experience in a similar fast-paced environment
- Extensive Key Holder experience in a similar environment
- Effective communicator, verbally and electronically
- Experience with Toast, Hotschedules, and Restaurant 365
- Must be passionate about hospitality and taking care of the guest, must be passionate about people development, and must be results-driven
Work Environment/ Physical Demand:
- Must be able to stand for a full shift
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Required to frequently reach, bend, stoop, and carry
- Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments; indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to tolerate potential exposure to allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
