Lodi is seeking an experienced Host who will share our passion for its cuisine, embrace a team-oriented style of service and be able to balance the nuanced demands of this dynamic position.
Lodi is one of the first concepts to join the iconic Rockefeller Center as it reimagines its retail and hospitality collection for a new era. The all-day caffè stems from Chef Ignacio Mattos, chef-owner of quintessential New York City restaurants, estela and Altro Paradiso. At Lodi, Mattos and his team draw inspiration from Italian aperitivo culture and the restaurant’s historic surroundings. The vision is to create a neighborhood anchor, elegant and friendly—a place you can visit practically any time of day, whether for an espresso in haste or a leisurely late-afternoon cocktail on the patio.
Host is the first point of contact for our guests and works closely with Lodi management team to ensure that all guests have pleasurable dining experiences. Our ideal candidate has a gracious and accommodating approach that comes easily to them.
This position requires availability on weekends and holidays.
Requirements for Success
- Availability of weekends and holidays
- Ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor and attitude that will foster a welcoming environment for our guests
- Desire and willingness to learn and grow
- Previous customer service experience
- Previous experience as a Host or a Maître D
- Ability to clearly, calmly, and concisely communicate
- Experience using Resy or a similar platform
- Ability to keep the flow of service
- Ability to work in fast paced environments
Guest Service
- Ensures all guests consistently receive courteous and efficient service
- Responds positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints
- Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff
- Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment
- Builds relationships with repeat guests
