Job Details
Hello!
We are seeking culinary professionals to assist in the production and plating of desserts and pastries using classic techniques in a fine dining setting as we prepare to open a new restaurant in Chelsea.
You’ll be working closely with the pastry chef to help test and produce all components related to the dessert menu, as well as working the line during service to plate desserts for guests. At least 2 years of prior fine dining pastry experience is required and experience working service is preferred. A culinary degree would be preferred but we are willing to teach and train for the right candidate. As pastry melds science and creativity, attention to detail will be essential in all facets of the role from scaling ingredients to plating beautiful desserts with artistic flair.
This will be a brigade-style kitchen with a clearly outlined hierarchy and honest communication. Members of the opening team will have the opportunity to help define the language, systems and culture of a new New York Classic. As this is a restaurant opening, flexibility in schedule will be required with strong growth and financial opportunities being offered to candidates who are pivotal to our success. The job will be full-time, Tuesday to Saturday, working nights with an average of 40 hours per week. Shifts will typically go from 3 – 11pm.
