Cafe Triste is a fun and intimate wine bar in Chinatown, Los Angeles focused on natural wine and well sourced ingredients.  We serve a full Cafe Menu nightly, with the menu rotating each week.  Chef Hannah Chumley cooks food that feels fresh and exciting, a mix of textures, flavors and bright pops.  It is a small focused menu, cooked in a kitchen with just 2 induction burners and a toaster essentially, but what comes out is serious, focused dishes with a lot of spirit.  Real food.
It's a fun and creative environment with open communication and no ego.  Our style of service is more common abroad but we focus on a small team who all work together to create a really special and unique environment.  

We are in search of one cook to work 3 10 hour shifts, with the opportunity to grow to a full time role.  The tips are pooled and split evenly so our BOH team receives tips as if they were bartenders.  Ideal candidates are  excellent communicators with solid foundations who think creatively and know how to problem solve.  It is a very visible role so composure is important as is a general sense of calm in a busy environment.  An interest in learning about wine or experience cooking in restaurants where that was a focus is a plus
