Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and service-oriented Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team. The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club, working alongside the General Manager to ensure the club operates smoothly, efficiently, and in line with our mission to deliver an outstanding member experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional with a passion for luxury service, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset. The AGM will be involved in managing staff, ensuring operational excellence, and implementing initiatives that enhance the member experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Operational Management

  • Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the club, ensuring that all departments (front-of-house, food & beverage, facilities, and events) are running smoothly.
  • Participate in scheduling, training, and development of staff, ensuring high standards of service are maintained.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety throughout the club.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and member satisfaction.

 

Member Relations

  • Build strong relationships with members, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  • Address member inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Implement initiatives to improve member engagement and satisfaction, such as special events, services, or new offerings.
  • Ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere is maintained at all times, and members feel valued and appreciated.

 

Staff Management and Leadership

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to club staff, ensuring that all team members are motivated, well-trained, and adhere to the club’s service standards.
  • Support the General Manager in recruiting, training, and retaining talented staff.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

 

Event Planning and Execution

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of club events, including social gatherings, business meetings, and private functions.
  • Work closely with the events team to ensure seamless logistics and exceptional member experiences during events.

 

Other Duties

  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continuously improve club offerings.
  • Act as the General Manager in their absence, ensuring that operations continue uninterrupted.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in food and beverage hospitality, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in private membership clubs or high-end service environments is a plus.
  • Education: A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with members and staff.
    • Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
    • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a focus on customer service and operational efficiency.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of F&B operations and management, and event planning.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Must be able to stand, walk, and move about the club for extended periods.
