Job Overview:
The Server at Saba is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by providing attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly service. As a Server, you will guide guests through the menu, offer suggestions, take orders, and ensure that each course is delivered promptly and accurately. You are the primary point of contact for our guests during their meal, and your goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the warm hospitality and high standards of Saba.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and provide a brief introduction to the menu and dining experience.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff efficiently.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring that all items are delivered correctly and in a timely manner.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal, promptly addressing any concerns or special requests.
- Provide guests with menu recommendations and be knowledgeable about the ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens in each dish.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables between guests.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required, ensuring that the dining area is ready for service.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary and service team to ensure a seamless dining experience for all guests.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a server or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A friendly and professional demeanor that embodies the spirit of hospitality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and walking for extended periods, often for the entire shift.
- Lifting and carrying trays, plates, and other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Bending, reaching, and stooping to perform tasks around the dining area.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of activity.
