Upscale casual restaurant open for brunch, lunch & dinner is
now accepting resumes for a Chef.
Must have at least 3 years previous experience at Executive Sous or Chef.
Duties Include:
- Lead the opening shift process as well as including food orders, inventory and price updates; receiving and storage; overseeing inspections; and leading and managing menu changes
- Lead, direct and ensure effective and efficient BOH operations including but not limited to food prep and cooking, ensure adequate inventory levels of food and supplies, waste management, and supervise the kitchen employees
- Ability to teach and run all stations with precision and consistency
- Ensure consistency in the taste, presentation, and portioning of all dishes
- Track and control food cost, and purchase and order food product and supplies for the restaurant including daily product order
- Partner with General Manager (GM) and sous chef to create prep lists throughout the day; and assign production duties to BOH staff
- Perform regular line checks throughout the day to ensure quality of all menu items
- Partner with GM and sous chef to regularly review and maintain recipe books
- Auditing all kitchen areas and staff for compliance with health code
- Manage BOH staff scheduling
- Ensure effective communication of food production and timing issues, needs, and special requests between front of house (FOH) and BOH
- Partner with GM and management team to interview, hire, onboard, train, supervise and develop all BOH employees and teams as needed
- Lead by example and maintain a positive work environment. You are the benchmark for the hourly staff. They should look up to you and want your position
- Comply with all health department requirements of food safety and staff hygiene including but not exclusive to labeling, time, and temperature
- Follows safety and emergency procedures to protect staff, guests, and property
- Maintains thorough understanding of industry and stays abreast of industry trends, especially with regards to sustainability
- Work a variety of days and shifts including early mornings, late nights and weekends
