ABOUT THE JOB
We are hiring Retail Attendants for part-time postions at our brick and mortar location in Prospect Heights and our Cart location at Prospect Park. The posted range of $25 - $32 per hour reflects a base wage of $13 - $16 per hour (dependent upon experience) inclusive of pooled tips and a delivery wage pool.
Our Retail Attendants serve as the face of the company at our retail locations, where we can provide an engaging, memorable and smooth experience featuring a KDT menu you can't get elsewhere.
Our critically-acclaimed breakfast tacos are served grab'n'go style--tailored to the fast-paced mornings of New Yorkers. They are made fresh each morning and wrapped individually, as such, there is minimal food prep required in this role.
Food and drink service is limited to the grab'n'go tacos, coffee (drip), seasonal drinks, beer/wine (bottled), bottled drinks, and light assembly and heating of prepared items (at HQ only; e.g. portioning queso & chips or toasting items).
Additionally, Retail Attendants are required to manage food safety, monitor inventory, prepare for service, address facility and customer needs both indoors and outdoors, and perform opening and/or closing duties.
We are looking for people with anywhere from 2-4 shifts per week of availability, approximate shift times (varies slightly by location):
Mon- Fri
6:30a-1:30p
10:30a-3:30p
Sat / Sun
6:30a-1:30p
10:00a-3:00p
9:00a-4:30p
These are great roles for people looking for more flexibility in their schedule, or who love working in food but want to leave their evenings free.
Our Retail Attendants make $25-$35/hr on average, including tips, depending on location. This average wage is calculated based on your base hourly wage + pooled tips + a delivery wage pool on third-party app orders. There are minimum guarantees in place if for any reason, tips do not reach certain thresholds.
Qualifications
- NYC Food Protection Certificate required and receives $13/hr starting at HQ and $15/hr at cart locations
- Experience in front-of-house foodservice or retail a major plus
- Mobile Food Vendors License is required at Cart locations (we will help you get this, and pay for it)
- Customer service-minded
- Team player with a can-do attitude - a good sense of humor is always appreciated!
- Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively
- Ability to maneuver and communicate with accuracy, clarity and speed
- Reliable and accountable
- Basic math skills and experience with point-of-sale
ABOUT US
Founded in Brooklyn in 2016, King David Tacos is a woman-owned CPG / Hospitality hybrid food company, focused on making a better on-the-go breakfast. Our breakfast tacos are critically-acclaimed, and we have established the breakfast taco market in New York.
KDT opened NYC's first breakfast taco carts--in Prospect Park (Sept 2017), in the Financial District (Nov 2017), and in Madison Square Park (June 2019). We opened our first brick & mortar in May 2021.
We operate out of our 4000 sf production facility in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Our products are straightforward but require great attention to detail. We produce all of our ingredients and menu items daily and then package our breakfast tacos for grab’n’go. We are a vertically-integrated, omnichannel business, currently distributing our breakfast tacos across Retail (brick & mortar and mobile), Wholesale (daily distribution to coffee shops / cafes), and Catering.
