Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sommelier / Floor Manager to join our team. This dual-role position requires a deep understanding of wine and beverage pairing, along with strong leadership skills to manage front-of-house operations. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for hospitality, a deep knowledge of wines (especially those that complement Mexican cuisine), and the ability to lead and inspire a team to deliver excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

Curate and manage the wine list, with a focus on selections that complement Mexican flavors.

Provide wine recommendations and pairings for guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.

Train and educate staff on wine service, beverage knowledge, and proper serving techniques.

Oversee daily floor operations, ensuring smooth service and customer satisfaction.

Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team to maintain a high level of service.

Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional and friendly manner.

Assist in managing inventory, including wine, spirits, and other beverage supplies.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized dining environment.

Qualifications:

Certification as a Sommelier (Level 2 or higher preferred).

2+ years of experience in a sommelier role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant.

Strong knowledge of Mexican cuisine and how to pair it with wines and other beverages.

Proven experience in a floor or restaurant management role.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.

A passion for hospitality, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering top-notch service.
