We are hiring for a General Manager to join 8282, a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand restaurant in the LES with a modern, light-hearted, fresh take on Korean food.
The name 8282 refers to Korea’s country code, +82, and has an additional meaning: The numbers, when read together, translate to a phrase that means “quickly” or “faster.” The phrase signifies a get-it-done attitude.
The General Manager will work closely with Owners Jee Young Kim and Executive Chef Bong Le Jo on all restaurant operations, staff development, guest relations, restaurant financials, marketing, promotions, and events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Oversee daily restaurant operations
- Foster a positive and inclusive working environment
- Recruit, train, manage, develop, and retain FOH staff
- FOH staff includes Hosts, Bartenders, Servers, and Expediters
- Ensure exceptional service
- Develop and maintain relationships with regular guests and VIPs
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Proven experience as a General Manager in a full-service restaurant.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house management.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts efficiently.
- Passion for food and beverage, with a commitment to quality and excellence.
- NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certificate
- Software including Toast POS, Resy, Google Workspace, Squarespace, ADP, Slack
- Korean language fluency is a plus.
- Korean restaurant experience is a plus.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Endurance to withstand long hours of standing, walking, and repetitive motions.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks.
- Adherence to proper lifting techniques and ergonomics to prevent strain or injury while performing job duties.
