Executive Sous Chef - Michelin Key Property
Acclaimed Forbes-starred and Michelin Key recipient property is seeking a talented Executive Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in oversight of its dinner-only California Coastal Cuisine concept, banquets, and various other outlets. Amazing opportunity for a strong hotel CDC looking for next set up in career. There is room for ample creative collaboration, especially within signature dinner only concept. Looking for an organized chef who finds inspiration in the local bounty of seafood and farmer's market produce.
Executive Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Support Hotel Executive Chef in leading all outlets and team members
- Menu development and recipe costing
- Collaborate with leadership on menu changes and seasonal updates
- Keep track of new trends in the industry
- Ensure that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Maintain proper ordering and inventory, scheduling and other administrative functions
- Ensure best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
Chef de Cuisine Preferred Requirements:
- 3+ years of senior culinary leadership experience as an Chef De Cuisine, Exec Sous, or Assistant Executive Chef
- Prior upscale dining and boutique hotel experience, with a heavy preference for past Michelin Key or Forbes Starred properties
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
- Creative, innovative thinking
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Experience in managing inventory and cost controls
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
