Mari, a michelin starred Korean hand roll restaurant in Hell's Kitchen by chef Sungchul Shim, is seeking enthusiastic and professional candidates for the Server position to join our team, located in Hell's Kitchen.
This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals looking to advance their career. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of food, beverage and service standards as well as a professional demeanor and most importantly, the desire to learn and potential for growth within the company.
A michelin or equivalent experience is very much appreciated, but not required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct table in a timely manner
- Keep tables clean and organized by clearing away plates and glasswares
- Ensure that orders match what was placed by the server and addressing any discrepancies
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth service and relay any special requests or issues
- Provide assistance to guests, such as refilling drinks or answering questions about the menu
- Help set up for service by stocking supplies and ensuring the dining area is ready
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of hospitality experience in a chef driven establishment is preferred but not at must.
- Knowledge of food and beverage safety procedures
- Knowledge of Korean cuisine is a plus
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and accomplish tasks in a timely manner
- Fluent in English
