CATERING LINE COOK
(SEASONAL/ Part Time On Call)
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work for a boutique off-premise catering company? Dish Food & Events, is seeking an experienced Hot Line Cook to join our team of culinary professionals!
JOB OVERVIEW
- The Hot Line Cook will work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to prepare food for high end special events including large scale weddings, gala dinners, cocktail events and corporate/social drop off catering. Focus will be on leading the execution of proteins and delivering consistent results.
- Must have flexibility with schedule requirements. There are opportunities to work mornings, evenings and weekend shifts.
- Weekend and occasional holiday work may be required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Protein line cook experience required
- High volume catering experience preferred
- General knife handling, food safety & sanitation knowledge
- Fish Fabrication and Meat butchery
- Cooking methods such as sauté, braising, blanching, grilling and sauce making.
- NYC food handler's license preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
- Work well in a team environment
- Able to take constructive feedback, learn quickly and constantly improve
- Ability to lift up 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in preparing delicious menu items for catering and event orders
- Deliver consistent results on the line
- Maintain cleanliness of all Back of House work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, prep and grill areas
- Safely operate kitchen equipment

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00)
