High-end sports bar, Signature, in South Loop, a dynamic collaboration between NFL legend Israel Idonije and renowned chef Stephen Gillanders opened in January, 2024, is continuing to build our team and hiring our Chef de Cuisine!!

Our mission is to craft an unforgettable sports bar experience that marries athleticism with cuisine, beverage and atmosphere in the heart of the Windy City. Our establishment aims to be a haven where the energy of the game meets the artistry of cuisine, elevating every aspect of your visit.

General Description:

The position of Chef de Cuisine requires extraordinary attention to detail, exacting focus, and strong kitchen management attitude. This role requires dedication, passion, creativity, and the ability to persevere through challenging services, while constantly striving to maintain the standards of Signature and our leaders.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Working under the direction of the chefs and completing assigned tasks daily.
  • Ability to teach and run all stations with precision and consistency
  • Daily inventory and ordering
  • Auditing all kitchen areas and staff for compliance with health code
  • Assisting with staff training and further education
  • Assisting with staff scheduling
  • Lead by example and maintain a positive work environment. You are the benchmark for the hourly staff. They should look up to you and want your position. 
  • Work under the guidance of our Culinary Director and Signature leadership
  • Comply with all health department requirements of food safety and staff hygiene including but not exclusive to labeling, time, and temperature.
  • Actively participates in the positive relationship between FOH and BOH teams by maintaining a steady stream of communication with all staff.
  • Follows safety and emergency procedures to protect staff, guests, and property.
  • Maintains thorough understanding of industry and stays abreast of industry trends.
  • Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with our guests and fellow team members to create a whole house team. 
  • Maintain a very flexible schedule, especially during the convention season. 
  • Performing other work duties as assigned
