Job Details

The hospitality group behind the acclaimed New York City restaurants, Llama Inn and Llama San is expanding its footprint with the upcoming Papa San, a Peruvian Izakaya set to open in feb 2025 on 34th Street and 10Th Avenue (in The Spiral building). We are currently looking to hire a talented and experienced Assistant General Manager to start on or around November/ December 2024.

The Assistant General Manager will play a pivotal role in the restaurant's day-to-day operations. As a member of the team, they will spearhead initiatives, drive development, and ensure the seamless operation of the dining room/bar in line with the Peruvian Japanese concept.

Assistant General Manager responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day shift operations ( opening and closing shifts)
  • Maintain standards according to DOH regulations
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints and reviews
  • Actively engage in all steps of service, by implementing, overseeing and maintaining all company policies and procedures 
  • Create and deliver experiences to our guests and our employees
Other responsabilities:
  • Supporting GM in financial, service, and staff related projects as assigned
  • Train, lead and develop people to achieve excellence and maintain company standards
  • Assist in educational trainings year round 
  • Manage team's schedules 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in full-service restaurant management as either a service manager, AGM, or formal dining restaurant manager
  • High volume experience of 200-300 covers per night preferred 
  • Proven leadership ability and track record, especially as it pertains to managing hourly employees
  • Mid to strong cost analysis skills as it relates to labor, COGS, CGS, & Comps; with the eagerness to learn more.
  • Experience with scheduling of over 15 team members 
  • Latin restaurant experience is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with our various systems is preferred (Toast, Resy, Binwise)
  • Ability to effectively manage a large team and delegate responsibilities
  • Food Handler Certification

Taking inspiration from Peru and Japan, the food menus will be crafted by Erik Ramirez, the cocktail program led by Tres Monos from Argentina, and will have an exciting wine and sake list.
