JOB DESCRIPTION:
Esmé is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team!
The Sous Chef is an essential member of our kitchen team, working closely with the Chef de Cuisine to create exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This role involves guiding the kitchen staff and overseeing food preparation. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a creative mindset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the CDC in menu planning, food preparation, and execution of dishes.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, complying with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate in inventory management, ordering, and maintaining kitchen supplies.
- Ability to teach and run all stations with precision and consistency
- Assisting CDC with staff scheduling
- Lead by example and maintain positive work environment
The team partners with a local artist each season and displays their pieces throughout the restaurant for guests to view and purchase. The culinary team draws inspiration from featured artists to curate a tasting menu to compliment the featured artwork.
