Job Details

Position Overview:

MIKA is seeking experienced and polished Food Runners to provide world-class service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team in a high-end restaurant setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to guests in accordance with fine dining standards.
  • Handle guest concerns and special requests with grace and professionalism.
  • Delivers food from kitchen to guests in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Understand all menu offerings, food descriptions and ingredients and be able to verbalize to guests.
  • Set tables appropriately to ensure guests have everything needed at each stage of service.
  • Ensure expo and service station areas are organized and maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with restaurant policies and local regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.   
  • Previous experience as a Food Runner in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of fine dining etiquette, food presentation, and wine service.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.  
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Working Conditions:

  • Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
  • Ability to work long days when required by business demands.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently lift heavy items, including trays, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
