Angel's Share is seeking a HOST / SERVER to join our Team!

Angel's Share is an award-winning cocktail located in the West Village on 45 Grove Street. Established in 1993, the bar specializes in Japanese techniques and skills with emphasis on attention to detail and welcoming hospitality.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual with strong work ethics to join us as a Host / Server. You will play an important role in creating a memorable experience upon customer entering our establishment. You will be responsible for setting the tone of guests’ overall experience!

Responsibilities of HOST:

Greet guests with a warm welcome - friendly and communicative with guests
Communicate clearly with another host position located inside (who is responsible for helping team on the floor of bar and seating guests)
Understand waitlist / first-come-first-serve-policy at the bar
Complete all established host setup duties in a timely manner
Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities for Server:

Maintains cleanliness and organization of bar, bar prep area, storage area and walk-in fridge freezer area
Ensures that ample supplies of glassware, general bar set-up, ice and garnishes are available during service periods.
Making sure glassware is stocked during shift, manual handwashing required for certain glasswares
Completes all established bar setup duties in a timely manner.
Take customer orders / study menu and be comfortable bringing beverages.
Performs work assignments directed by bartender or beverage management.
Knowledgeable of and adherence to food and beverage department regulations and procedures.
Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Learn how to prepare syrups, garnishes, liquor batches, etc
General stocking and preparing service related items
Enforce all health code and food safety and sanitation requirements

Requirements:

At least 2 years experience in hospitality, although if passionate and eager individual, we are willing to make an acception if less
Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual
Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service
Able to work in a very fast-paced environment, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills
Strong willingness to learn from ground zero - crucial for candidate to have an open-mind and to be able to learn from scratch in order to train according to our unique bar program we have followed since 1993.
Strong passion & patience and eagerness to learn
Great positive attitude and works well under pressure
Team player and able to communicate efficiently
Interest in Japanese culture, knowledge of Japanese language is a plus but not required
Full time flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays).
Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
