Estela is seeking an experienced Maître d'
One of the most celebrated restaurants in the United States, Estela is an intimate downtown bistro from chef Ignacio Mattos can be experienced in many ways, whether it’s a thrilling dinner in the dining room, a leisurely weekend brunch with friends, or a late-night drink at the bustling bar. Since opening in 2013, the restaurant has served several signature dishes that are now considered New York City classics, while always offering guests something new to try.
Our commitment to quality and passion for exceptional dining experiences have earned estela one Michelin star, among other major accolades.
Estela is currently seeking a Maître d'who shares our passion for its cuisine, embraces a team-oriented style of service and is able to balance the nuanced demands of this dynamic position.
Maître d' is the first point of contact for our guests and works closely with estela management teams to ensure that all guests have pleasurable dining experiences. Our ideal candidate has a gracious and accommodating approach that comes easily to them.
This position requires availability on weekends and holidays.
Requirements for Success
- Ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor and attitude that will foster a welcoming environment for our guests
- Willingness to learn and grow
- Previous customer service experience
- Previous experience as a Maître d'
- Ability to clearly, calmly, and concisely communicate
- Ability to lead a team
- Experience using Resy or a similar platform
- Ability to keep the flow of service
- Ability to work in fast paced environments
Guest Service
- Ensure all guests consistently receive courteous and efficient service.
- Respond positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints.
- Communicate any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen team.
- Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment.
- Build relationships with repeat guests. .

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($30.00 - $35.00)
