Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume setting
  2. Minimum of 1 year management experience
  3. Understanding of all stations, techniques and standards
  4. Food Protection Card and High knowledge of DOH procedures required
  5. Culinary degree preferred
  6. FULL AVAILABILITY- daytime hours, evening hours and weekends

 Behavior/Skills

  1. Able to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  2. Organized and detail oriented
  3. Able to handle multiple tasks and works well in environment with time constraints.
  4. Able to handle last minute changes

Responsibilities (Included but not limited to)

  1. Properly execute plated dishes with varying components to standards set by Executive Chef
  2. Complete all closing requirements as directed by Executive Chef
  3. Serves as the acting Head Manager when the Executive Chef is not on the restaurant premises
  4. Taste and review products on a daily basis to ensure quality and consistency with preparation and presentation
  5. Have working knowledge of inventory ordering systems
  6. Identify and communicate suggestions to the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef for policies and procedures to improve the operation
  7. Ensure that proper sanitation and safety practices are followed
  8. Supervise hourly staff

MINETTA TAVERN NY ORIGINALLY OPENED IN 1937

Named after the Minetta Brook — which ran southwest from 23rd Street to the Hudson River — the Tavern was frequented by various layabouts and hangers-on including Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, Eugene O'Neill, E. E. Cummings, Dylan Thomas, and Joe Gould, as well as by various writers, poets, and pugilists.

Since its renovation, Minetta Tavern has best been described as "Parisian steakhouse meets classic New York City tavern."

We hope — and believe — that's a somewhat accurate description of the place.
