Bartenders, like Servers, guide our guests through their meal creating an excellent, cared-for experience for anyone who chooses to join us at the bar. In addition to attending to the beverage needs of bar and dining room guests, Bartenders serve an additional audience—every member of the Service team becomes their “guest” while in service. Bartenders must engage fellow colleagues on the Service team with patience and empathy. Bartenders also assist in monthly inventory, cocktail development, Service Team education, and more. Additionally, as an extension of the Host/Maître d’ role, Bartenders are expected to recognize regular guests, friends and family, hospitality industry peers/ key press and reviewers, and warmly welcome first-time diners.
Responsibilities include:
- Enthusiastically and genuinely greeting guests, both upon arrival and departure
- Understanding and fully executing all Steps of Service
- Thoroughly and expediently executing all pre- and post-service side work
- Expert-like knowledge of all current menu items and specials
- Delivering thoughtful assistance to guests with specific dietary restrictions and preferences
- Advanced knowledge of all current by-the-glass (BTG) wine selections, specialty cocktails, classic cocktails, and beer selection
- Composed communications with FOH and BOH Management regarding specific guest needs, concerns, or conflicts
- Thoroughly and expediently executing check transfers from bar to table
- Thoroughly understanding and executing on all Department of Health (DOH) standards
- TIPS certification
- Cash handling
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($11.00) plus tips
