SUMMARY Responsible for coordinating and monitoring entire station and communicating with dining room and kitchen personnel to provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. Processes guest orders to ensure that all food and beverage items are prepared properly and on a timely basis. Will present, open, and pour wine when serving guests and will clear glassware when appropriate. Observes guests to ensure satisfaction with the food and service, anticipates and responds to additional requests and needs, and determines when the meal has been completed. Totals bills, accepts payment and liaises with bartender for cash transactions. Assists back server with marking tables, clearing courses, water and bread service, stocking service stations, and cleaning and resetting vacated tables. At all times maintains a clean working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- - Check in with management upon arrival for daily duties and station assignments.
- Set up dining room according to floor plan provided by manager, complete assigned side work and ensure dining room is detailed and ready for service prior to pre-shift briefing.
- - Attend pre-shift briefing, taking note of relevant information including service, food and beverage, and guest notes.
- Greet guests and present them with the wine list, take water preference, and offer an aperitif.
- After water is poured present and explain the menu to the guests
- Deliver cocktails, aperitifs, or wine.
- Take food and beverage or wine orders from guests (either written or memorized) and relays order to kitchen staff, sommelier and bartender as appropriate.
- Process guest orders to ensure all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis, ensuring that all food orders are completed correctly, taking into account food allergies dietary restrictions and special requests.
- Communicate with host stand, service staff, and kitchen, and coordinate entire station to ensure guest satisfaction with the food and service.
- Serve courses from kitchen and service areas promptly and graciously with finesse according to restaurant protocol and garnish items with proper presentation prior to serving including tableside service.
- Present, open, and pour wine adhering to the restaurants protocol.
- Assists back server with marking tables, clearing courses, water and bread service, stocking service stations, and cleaning and resetting vacated tables.
- Observe diners to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, anticipate and respond to any additional requests and needs, determine when the meal has been completed.
- Total the bills and accept payment.
- Be able to perform opening, mid and closing duties as outlined by management.
- Assist in counting china, glass, silver and linen.

Physical Demands:
This position is very active and requires standing for long periods of time. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 20 pounds.
