What is RVR?
RVR is a Japanese izakaya-inspired tavern where the community at large gathers to share food, drinks and music. Our menu includes raw fish, cooked vegetables, hand rolls, proteins, and ramen. Our beverage program features a well-curated selection of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and sake. The music program is a mix of vinyl, cassettes, and hand-picked playlists curated by Carlos Niño.
Who We’re Looking For
We want team members who have a desire to improve, practice discipline, and grow in this industry. Being part of RVR means constantly refining your craft - as a server, as a host, as a bartender, as a cook, as a dishwasher. You’re either getting better or falling behind—there’s no in-between. We require focus, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.
What Great Service Means to Us
We want our guests to feel genuinely cared for, to experience our brand of hospitality in personalized & detailed moments. If they over-order, help them adjust or if they are deciding to drink red wine with raw fish, offer them a small glass of something chilled & crisp to enhance their experience. We’ll give you the tools to succeed—you bring curiosity, professionalism, and initiative.

If you’re passionate about hospitality and ready to grow, we want to hear from you.

RVR is an all-day Japanese Izakaya / Tavern which combines the epic traditions of everyday Japanese drinking fare with the abundant and colorful bounty of California seasonal produce and local fisheries.
We aim to showcase the more informal, laid back, and casually elegant side to the Japanese table. Our intention is to pay reverence to one of the most dynamic food landscapes in the world while placing it firmly into the modern southern California food scene.
RVR is ultimately a love letter to our collective fascination and respect of Japan, and a reflection of the multicultural tapestry of the Los Angeles food community.
